How to grow lucky bamboo

How to grow lucky bamboo

1. Breeding environment

1. Temperature: The growth environment of the lucky bamboo should be 16-25℃, and the temperature should not be too low. Do not keep it in a cold and shady place, and take warming measures when the temperature is too low. In winter, it is best to grow it on a balcony or windowsill to ensure sufficient light.

2. Water volume: Don’t use too much water, it only needs to occupy 1/3 or 2/3 of the bottle. When maintaining it, you only need to add water, no need to change the water. When the weather is drier, you should spray more water on the leaves.

3. Fertilization: Generally, fertilizer is required once a month. The amount of fertilizer should not be too large. Appropriate amount of fertilizer can make the leaves greener and grow more stretched.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Seedling propagation: Select a 5-10 cm long stem segment without leaves and insert it into the sand bed. Do not reverse the up and down position when cutting. In spring and autumn, it usually takes 25-30 days to take root.

2. Cutting propagation: Use the top spike or side bud top spike of about 15-20 cm, and insert it into the soil after processing. Bury 2 internodes in the soil and make sure the soil is moist. It takes about 30-35 days for the roots to grow in spring, and about 35-45 days in autumn and winter.

3. Common diseases

1. Stem rot: It usually occurs in a high temperature environment and will harm the leaves and stems of the lucky bamboo. After discovery, the diseased plants should be removed and burned in time, and sprayed with fungicide powder for prevention and control.

2. Leaf spot: It is more serious in a relatively humid growing environment and is highly contagious. It will cause the leaves and stems to rot. In the early stages of the disease, they should be sprayed with medicine regularly and allowed to penetrate light appropriately.
