Lithops prefers a climate with warm winters and cool summers. It is suitable for growing in a dry, sunny and well-ventilated environment. The suitable growth temperature is between 10-30 degrees. It has a wide adaptability to soil and should grow in loose, breathable and well-drained neutral sandy loam.

How to grow Lithops

It does not like a humid environment, so do not water it too much. Water it when it is dry. The plant cannot tolerate strong light, so it needs proper shade when the sunlight is strong.

Common diseases of Lithops are leaf spot and leaf rot, which can be sprayed with wettable powder of Zineb. Common insect pests include ants, root-knot nematodes and root mealybugs. You can replace the soil or irrigate the roots with avermectin.

How to grow Lithops at home

Lithops likes loose, fertile soil. For potted maintenance, you can mix vermiculite, peat, perlite in equal proportions. You can also add a small amount of fine-grained sand to increase drainage. Provide sufficient light conditions, provide shade in summer, and it is best to move it to a warm indoor place for maintenance in winter.

Lithops likes a dry environment, so water it less and spray it more often. Use a spray bottle to water it most of the time. Never water it in rainy weather for a long time. If you water it, you need to open the window or turn on the fan to ensure ventilation and speed up the evaporation of water.
