How to open a durian

How to open a durian

1. Pry open from the crack

Mature durian usually has cracks. Use a fruit knife to slowly pry it open along the cracks and then draw a circle along the skin to easily break it open.

2. Lift the fruit stem

Slowly lift the stalk of the durian, point the tail toward the ground, and bang it against the ground. This will also make it easy to open. However, the flesh of the fruit opened in this way will fall into pieces and must be eaten as quickly as possible; it cannot be preserved.

3. Tail Cut

If the durian you want to open has no cracks and is fully ripe. At this time, you can cut a small part of the tail. After cutting, you will see lines on it. Insert the fruit knife into the intersection of the lines and cut along the lines.
