Which plants are suitable for watering with beer?

Flower Arrangement

According to experiments conducted by flower experts, pouring beer into a vase containing various flowers can extend the shelf life of the flowers by 15 to 20 days.

Foliage plants

Dip absorbent cotton or a cloth strip in beer, and gently wipe foliage flowers such as orchids, green radish, Brazilian iron tree, monstera, Clivia and variegated dieffenbachia. It can not only remove dust, kill bacteria and repel insects, but also has the effect of foliar fertilization. It can also make these flowers more lush and smooth, significantly increase the chlorophyll content, promote the growth of flowers, improve the resistance of flowers, reduce the phenomenon of leaf fall due to climate intolerance, and keep the leaves bright green.

Small flowers

After diluting the beer with water in a 1 : 1 ratio, use a fine-meshed spray bottle to slowly spray some flowers with small leaves, such as asparagus fern, crabapple, spider plant and geranium, to achieve the same effect.

Application of beer in flower cultivation

Watering the Flowers

Using a mixture of one third beer and two thirds water to water the flowers can adjust the pH value of the soil, which is very beneficial for flowers that like acid. It can make flowers grow vigorously, with green leaves and bright flowers. It not only allows the flowers to get sufficient nutrients, but also allows them to absorb them particularly quickly.

Spray blade

Mix water and beer in a ratio of 1:10 , and spray it on the leaves, which can also achieve the effect of foliar fertilization. Beer should not be applied in a concentrated solution. Generally, add 1 part beer to 2 parts water, stir well and spray it. In spring, spray it once every 20 to 30 days. When spraying, both the front and back sides of the leaves should be sprayed, because there are stomata on both sides of the leaves, which can promote absorption.

Wipe the leaves

For foliage flowers and trees, you can use cotton wool or a clean soft cloth dipped in beer to gently wipe the leaves. It can not only wipe off dust but also apply fertilizer to the leaves. Since the leaves can directly absorb nutrients, the leaves of flowers will be greener and more shiny, and the texture of the leaves will also appear thicker.

For flower arrangement

Pouring 1/10 of beer into a vase can make the flower arrangement more beautiful and extend its viewing time for several days.

When watering flowers with beer, never pour the ice-cold beer directly on the flowers. Dilute it and let it return to room temperature before watering.
