How to plant watermelon seeds

1. Planting time

The planting time for early spring watermelon should be around March. Autumn watermelons are usually planted in July in summer and can be harvested in autumn.

2. Seed treatment

Prepare plump watermelon seeds and soak them in 55 degrees Celsius warm water before sowing to kill the pathogens on the surface of the seeds.

3. Germination treatment

Before sowing, the seeds must be germinated. Place the seeds in a greenhouse and soak them in clean water for 4 hours. Then spread the seeds on 2 to 3 layers of fine and tight wet cloth. Cover the seeds with 2 to 3 layers of wet cloth and place them in a container. Place the container in a warm, sunny place. Be sure to keep the gauze moist. The seeds will germinate in about a few days.

4. Planting Method

Prepare a deeper flowerpot and sandy soil with good drainage. Add an appropriate amount of base fertilizer to the bottom of the flowerpot, fill it with soil, and water it thoroughly. Then transplant the germinated watermelon seeds into the flowerpot.
