Dandelions can grow in forests, grasslands, roadsides, riverbanks, and fields, and are mainly distributed in Jiangsu, Henan, Zhejiang, Jilin, and other regions in China. They are also distributed in North Korea, Mongolia, and Russia.

Dandelion growth cycle

Dandelions can bloom and bear seeds after two years of care. They bloom from April to September and bear fruit from May to October. During the flowering and seeding period, the number of flowers per plant increases with the growing years, and the seeds are mature 13-15 days after flowering.

Dandelion growth rate

If dandelion seeds are harvested in May and planted, it only takes 10-12 days for the seedlings to germinate. If planted in the summer from July to August, it will take 15 days for the seedlings to germinate.

Dandelion growth cycle management

Dandelions can be harvested 6-7 times a year and can last for 4-5 years. Generally speaking, the yield of dandelion seeds is about 2 to 3 kilograms per acre.

Temperature management : Dandelions are highly adaptable and are both cold-resistant and heat-resistant. The optimum temperature for seed germination is 15 to 25 degrees, and the optimum temperature for leaf growth is 20 to 22 degrees.

Fertilization management : Dandelions prefer fertile and loose soil. When planting dandelions, ammonium nitrate should be used as base fertilizer. Topdressing should be done 1-2 times during the growing season.
