How long is the growing period of peanuts?

The growing cycle of peanuts takes about three to five months, but there are generally late-maturing varieties, and the growth cycle of late-maturing varieties is about six months.

The growth and development stages of peanuts are roughly the seedling stage, flowering stage and pod-setting stage. Generally, there are two varieties. The early-maturing variety is planted in April each year and matures around August. The late-maturing variety is generally planted in May and matures after December each year.

The growth process of peanuts

1. Seedling stage

Generally, the main growth during the seedling stage is vegetative growth, mainly the growth and development of the main root, lateral roots and leaves, which is usually when the first flower blooms.

2. Flowering period

During the flowering period, in addition to vegetative growth and development, a large number of flowers bloom, and the number of leaves gradually increases.

3. Pod-setting period

The pod-setting period is generally when vegetative growth reaches its peak, and the fruits also begin to grow at this stage.

Peanut growth period maintenance and management

1. Maintenance during the seedling stage: The main thing during the seedling stage is to provide it with additional light. Generally, if the light time is sufficient, the seedling stage can be shortened.

2. Maintenance during the flowering period: Generally, more watering is needed during the flowering period. Make sure the soil is always moist, which will help promote its rapid growth.

3. Maintenance during the pod-setting period: Some fertilizer needs to be applied appropriately during the pod-setting period. It is best to use compound fertilizer rich in trace elements.
