Since the growth potential of gourd is weak and its growth period is short, in addition to applying base fertilizer, gourd also needs to be topdressed.

Precautions for topdressing gourd

Applying top dressing 1-2 times in stages after harvesting gourd can promote its growth. Gourd requires relatively more water and can be watered once every 1-2 days during the fruiting period. Top dressing of gourd should be based on soil fertility and combined with watering. 10-15 days after planting gourd, poles should be inserted and trellises should be set up. When 4-6 true leaves grow, spray 1.5-6 ethephon on the leaves.
