Introduction to Wax Apple

The height of the wax apple plant is about 3 meters. It can bloom and bear fruit many times a year, with a large amount of fruit. It normally blooms from March to May and the fruit ripens from May to July. The flowering period can be controlled by regulating the temperature, so that the fruit ripening period can be advanced to December to April of the following year. Wax apple is also called wax apple, heavenly peach, Lianwu, and Java apple.

There are many varieties of wax apples, such as Black King Kong, Black Pearl Wax Apple, Missile Wax Apple, Palm-sized Wax Apple, Blue Diamond Wax Apple, and Green Diamond Wax Apple.

Wax apple likes warm and sunny environment and is relatively drought-resistant, but not water-resistant. Excessively moist soil will cause root rot. In addition, it has a wide adaptability to soil, but it is best planted in loose, fertile, well-drained soil.

Wax apples are native to Malaysia and India, and are also distributed in Taiwan, Pingtung County, Chiayi County, Yunlin County, and Hainan, China, for consumption.

Wax apple has a strong adaptability to the environment and is suitable for planting all year round, but the survival rate is generally highest in spring from March to May and autumn from August to October. Each time it is planted, the temperature needs to be controlled at 20-25℃ and it should be placed in gentle sunlight.

Benefits of wax apple cultivation

About 60 wax apple plants can be planted per mu of land. They can be planted in March in spring and grafted in September of the same year. If they are well maintained, they will bear fruit in the third year. After five years, it will be the peak production period. Each plant will bear 80 kilograms of fruit. The output per mu of land is 4,000-5,000 kilograms. Calculated at 10 yuan per kilogram, the net profit is 40,000-50,000 yuan.
