Pepper growing conditions

Pepper grows very slowly and is relatively resistant to heat, cold, drought, wind, shearing, and is easy to transplant. It often grows in shady woods and is not resistant to direct sunlight. It is suitable for planting in loose, fertile, well-drained sandy loam.

Pepper Growing Climate

Pepper likes high temperature, the annual average temperature is between 25 and 27 degrees. Generally speaking, pepper can grow and bear fruit normally in frost-free areas with an annual average temperature of 21-26 degrees and above 0 degrees. It has a certain ability to resist low temperatures. It is most suitable to plant pepper in frost-free areas with an annual average temperature of 23 to 27 degrees.

It is afraid of cold, drought, waterlogging and wind. It is native to Southeast Asia and is widely planted in tropical regions. It is planted in Taiwan, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan and Yunnan provinces in China.

Pepper has high requirements for temperature and water. It is usually planted in spring, when the temperature is stable at above 15 degrees and the air humidity is high. This is also its vigorous growth period and it will sprout soon after planting.

Pepper Planting Benefits

The economic benefits, costs and profit returns of pepper planting are closely related. Its planting cost is relatively low. The cost of seedlings per acre is about one thousand yuan, the cost of fertilizers and pesticides is about one thousand yuan, and the cost of labor and other planting auxiliary costs is about one thousand yuan. The total cost is about three to three thousand five hundred yuan.

On average, one acre can produce 600 kilograms of pepper. Based on the price of 10 (black pepper) to 20 (white pepper) yuan per kilogram, the profit per acre is about 6,000 to 12,000 yuan. Excluding the cost of planting, another 2,500 to 10,000 yuan can be earned. It can be said that the profit margin is quite good.
