What to do if the roots of Begonia regia turn black

What to do if the roots of Begonia regia turn black

Causes of black roots:

Excessive watering, overheated soil and poor ventilation will keep the roots in moisture for a long time. If the flowerpot is too wet for a long time, the soil will easily become moldy, which is very detrimental to plant growth.

Solution:

At this time, you need to pull the plant out of the soil. You can loosen the soil first and then pull it out. Be sure to do it slowly and gently. After pulling it out, cut off all the black areas. Then put it in a cool and dry place for one to two days to allow the cut to dry slowly. Then plant it in the soil. At this time, all the soil for planting must be replaced.

Other causes of black roots:

In fact, in addition to living in moist soil for a long time which can cause the roots to turn black, there are many other factors that can cause the two symptoms to occur, such as fertilization, sunlight, and growth temperature, etc. After the roots turn black, the leaves will also show some symptoms, such as the outside of the leaves slowly turning yellow.

Daily maintenance precautions:

Try to choose flower pots and planting soil that are breathable and permeable, and be sure not to allow water to accumulate during daily watering. Observe the soil more often and do not set a fixed time for watering. Watering should be based on the actual environment. For example, if it is cloudy or rainy, watering can be postponed for a few days. Also be careful to stagger fertilization with watering.
