How to care for Milan flowers in winter

Is Milan afraid of cold?

Milan is afraid of the cold and can easily be frozen to death in winter. It is suitable for normal growth at temperatures above 10 degrees. Its suitable growth temperature is between 20℃~25℃.

When moving Milan flowers indoors in winter, place them near a window or on a shelf where sunlight is exposed. Do not place them in a dark corner, and the indoor temperature should be kept above 5°C.

How to care for Milan flowers in winter

In winter, you should control the watering of Milan and keep the soil in the pot dry. To prevent the leaves from drying out, spray water every 10 days or so. When the temperature is below zero, move the pot to a sunny place indoors. The temperature should be between 10 and 12 degrees. In early spring, you can cover it with plastic film to increase the temperature.

Appropriate warming: Move the plants indoors early in the winter and place them in the sun. Avoid placing them near vents to prevent cold wind from blowing onto the plants. Control the temperature at 10-12°C.

Proper watering: Milan is in a dormant or semi-dormant state in winter. The potting soil cannot be dry or too wet, and it cannot be watered too much to avoid water accumulation in the pot.

Sunbathing : Milan flowers can be exposed to the sun in winter. They like sunshine. The sunshine is soft in winter, so they can be exposed to the sun more often to increase the surrounding temperature and improve their resistance to cold.

Placement : Milan flowers like temperature and are usually moved indoors in mid-to-late October. They should be placed in a sunny spot. The room temperature must be kept at around 10°C and the temperature should not fluctuate too much.

Precautions for winter cultivation of Milan flowers

1. Milan is not cold-resistant, so it should be moved indoors in time before the frost comes. Do not place it next to the heater or near the air-conditioning vent, but open the windows frequently for ventilation.

3. In winter, if the indoor temperature of Milan is more than ten degrees, you can water it normally. But when the temperature is low, you only need to water it a little. When the temperature is below zero, you can put a plastic bag so that it can safely survive the winter and bloom next year.
