Flower Selection

Choose those goldfish plants with full and neat plant shapes, full and translucent leaves, stems that are not too long, and preferably with flower buds. Avoid buying goldfish plants in winter because the temperature is too low and they are easily frozen and do not bloom.

Pot soil

When repotting the goldfish plant, you can use a clay or ceramic pot that is 2 to 3 cm larger in diameter than the original pot.

The goldfish plant likes moisture and has high requirements for soil. It is generally mixed with peat soil, leaf mold and vermiculite in a ratio of 6:3:2.

Ordinary mountain soil and garden soil are not suitable for growing goldfish spider plants as they are easily compacted and have poor water and air permeability.

It is recommended to use some coarse river sand for paving, which can play a role in water retention and air permeability.

Watering

Goldfish Chlorophytum likes moisture, so you need to water it more often in spring, summer and autumn, usually at night, once every 2 to 3 days. Water it when the soil is dry, and control the frequency.

When the temperature is too high in summer, you can use the immersion pot method and place the flower pot in a shallow tray of water to retain moisture. Usually, remember to sprinkle water around the goldfish flower to maintain the air humidity.

When watering, be careful not to water the leaves. Light will be reflected through the water droplets and thin leaves may be sunburned.

Goldfish Chlorophytum likes shade and needs shade in the summer when there is too much sunlight. Generally, we just put it on the shady window.

Fertilization

When preparing the soil, you can add a little chicken manure or cake fertilizer to increase the nutrition of the potting soil.

Normally, you can dilute the decomposed rice water 20 times and then apply it to the goldfish spider plant, watering it once about half a month.
