Cotton planting time

Due to the differences in temperature in various regions, the cotton planting time is also different, usually in April in spring. my country's cotton is mainly planted in the Yellow River Basin, the Yangtze River Basin and Xinjiang. Among them, the Yangtze River Basin and the Yellow River Basin are sown in March and April, and Xinjiang cotton is sown in April and May.

Cotton is planted in different regions, so the time of maturity and harvest is different. The harvest time in the Yangtze River Basin is from late July to early September, the harvest time in the Yellow River Basin is from early July to early August, and the harvest time in Turpan, Xinjiang is from mid-July to early September.

1. Choose the land

During the development and growth period, cotton mainly obtains water and nutrients from the soil through its roots. Therefore, we need to choose soil that is suitable for the growth and development of the plant's roots and is breathable. The soil is required to be loose and porous, with low viscosity, good water content but no water accumulation, a certain basic fertility, and a deep soil layer.

2. Control fertilization

Cotton requires different fertilizer supplies at different stages, and because of its long growth period and deep root distribution, we must add rich minerals to the surface soil. Generally, the base fertilizer is mainly farmyard manure and decomposed cake fertilizer, and compound fertilizer is used for surface irrigation when applying topdressing.

3. Maintenance work

Cotton has very high requirements for light during the entire growth process. Only with sufficient light conditions can cotton grow and develop normally. Therefore, a sunny environment should be provided, and watering and fertilizing should be carried out according to the growth stage of the cotton and the actual situation of the soil.
