How much temperature should be outside to move succulents indoors?

How much temperature should be outside to move succulents indoors?

If the temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius, you must move indoors!

After entering the autumn and winter seasons, the leaves of succulents begin to gradually change color, becoming a bright and charming landscape on the balcony.

In order to color quickly, many friends place them outdoors to create a large temperature difference. If the temperature difference between day and night is relatively large, or the temperature is lower than 5 degrees Celsius, the plant tissue will be frozen, especially the newly purchased plants or smaller plants.

It is recommended that young succulent plants be moved to a warm location indoors for maintenance when the temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius, or a simple warm shed be built to prevent the plants from freezing.

For large-seedling succulent plants, placing them outdoors for natural care can make their color become particularly beautiful, but when the temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius for a long time, it is recommended to move them to a warm location indoors for care, or build a transparent warm shed.

How should we care for and manage the succulents that we move into the house?

First, there should be enough light

Succulent plants prefer a growing environment with plenty of sunlight, and when the temperature drops in winter, their demand for light is even stronger.

If it is placed in a dimly lit location indoors for a long time, the plant will grow too tall and its ability to resist cold will decrease, eventually causing the plant to wither.

It is recommended to place it on a south-facing balcony with strong indoor light for maintenance, which can improve the plant's cold resistance.

Secondly, the soil should be dry

After succulents enter winter, although the leaves appear to be colored, it does not mean that the plants will continue to grow. If you still water them too frequently, the soil will be too wet or waterlogged, which will rot the root tissue.

It is recommended that succulents moved indoors need to control water and keep the soil dry.

In addition, ventilation should be good

Succulent plants are native to a wide range of habitats, and over time have developed a habit of liking fresh air. If the room is kept closed for a long time, it will affect the breathing of the plant, and eventually the leaves will turn yellow and wither.

It is recommended to open doors and windows at noon when the temperature rises, and ensure that the ventilation time is not less than two hours a day.

Finally, no fertilization and maintenance

Succulents that are dormant in summer or winter do not require any fertilization or maintenance.

So, when should you fertilize? Generally , you should choose spring and autumn for fertilization and maintenance . In addition, succulents are not tolerant to fertilizers, and their growth is relatively slow, so you should not fertilize too much or too concentrated at one time.
