How to grow succulent plants

The growth habits of succulents are usually based on three aspects: watering, soil and light. Most succulents prefer a dry environment, are not resistant to water and humidity, and are suitable for maintenance in soil with good air permeability. Some vermiculite can be added appropriately, and scattered light should be provided during the growth period.

1. Variety selection

If you want succulents to grow to the size of a pot, you need to buy varieties that are easy to grow. If you don't choose the right variety, it is usually difficult to achieve the effect. It is best to choose vines and other plants that are easy to grow and are very cheap.

2. Water appropriately

Succulent plants need a certain amount of water to maintain their growth. There must not be excess water in the potting soil. If they are soaked in water for a long time, the roots will rot. Watering should be controlled during the summer dormancy period, but water should be sprayed frequently to prevent the environment from being too dry and affecting its normal growth.

3. Reasonable lighting

Succulent plants can only achieve good results if they are exposed to more sunlight. Four hours of sunlight a day is enough. The sunlight in summer is very strong, so shade measures need to be taken to avoid direct sunlight. The light intensity in winter is low, so it is suitable to be placed in a sunny place.

4. Timely pruning

During the growth process of succulents, problems such as yellow leaves or diseased leaves may occur due to improper maintenance. They should be cut off immediately after occurrence, otherwise too many nutrients will be consumed. When repotting, rotten and overgrown roots should be slightly trimmed.

Precautions for caring for succulent plants

Succulent plants are prone to diseases and pests during their growth period. In spring and summer, you can rotate the spraying of carbendazim and flower protector. If the temperature is high in summer, lower the room temperature, increase ventilation, and prune branches and leaves to increase light transmission and ventilation, which can reduce the occurrence of diseases.
