Precautions for growing hydrangea in water

Precautions for growing hydrangea in water

1. Change water frequently

The first thing to pay attention to during water culture is to change the water frequently to ensure the water quality is clean. Moreover, frequent water changes can increase the oxygen content and be more conducive to the growth of hydrangeas. However, after rooting has taken place, the number of times should be reduced appropriately to avoid damaging the root system. If mold appears, it means rooting has failed and you should stop immediately.

2. Rooting Agent

When cultivating in water, soak the bottom of the branches with rooting agent before inserting them into water. This will facilitate rooting and shorten the rooting time. In addition, be careful that there should be no leaves on the part inserted into the water, and all the leaves at the bottom should be removed, otherwise they will easily rot when soaked in water, resulting in rooting failure.

3. Block light

During water cultivation, it should be placed in a place with weak light or no light as much as possible. Sunlight will accelerate withering, especially strong light. In addition, you must also pay attention to blocking strong winds. Do not place it on the windowsill in the early stages of maintenance to be blown by strong winds, otherwise it will cause the leaves to wither and fall off.
