Cultivation methods and precautions of four-season azalea

Cultivation methods and precautions of four-season azalea

1. Soil

When growing four-season azalea, you should use acidic soil with high air permeability and loose fertile soil, which is more conducive to its growth. For home breeding, it is recommended to use a mixture of leaf mold, sandy loam and river sand. If the cultivation soil is alkaline, it should be adjusted as soon as possible.

2. Lighting

It likes to grow in a warm environment and should be kept in a location where it can see sunlight, but it cannot be exposed to strong sunlight for a long time and needs shade in midsummer. In addition, more ventilation is needed. If the maintenance environment is too stuffy, it will cause diseases and affect the quality of flowering.

3. Water

Four-season azalea grows well in moist places and should be watered in time to provide it with a slightly moist growing environment. However, its roots are very thin, so do not add too much water. Waterlogging is very detrimental to the growth of the plant's roots. In autumn and winter, the frequency and amount of watering should be reduced to keep the soil slightly dry.

IV. Precautions

It should be noted that timely pruning is required during the maintenance period, especially after the flowers have bloomed, the withered flowers should be pruned as soon as possible, otherwise too many nutrients will be consumed. Also, after new branches grow, they need to be thinned out appropriately.
