How to plant Dutch daffodils (soil preparation and planting steps)

1. Processing bulbs

Its epidermis is usually relatively dry, so before planting, some of the old and dry skin should be peeled off, but be careful not to peel too deep. Afterwards, the old roots at the bottom must be removed, and be careful not to damage the root plate, otherwise it will affect rooting and later growth.

2. Disinfection

After the bulbs are processed, they need to be disinfected. Potassium permanganate solution can be used as the disinfectant. Soak the bulbs in disinfectant for about an hour or two to completely disinfect them and avoid mold. After soaking, place them in a cool place to dry for later use.

3. Soil Preparation

The preparation of the soil is very important during planting. It is afraid of waterlogging when growing, so use sandy soil with good drainage, which should be slightly acidic and mixed with an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer to increase nutrients. If conditions permit, it is best to lay a layer of gravel on the bottom before potting to improve drainage.

4. Planting in pots

Once everything is ready, you can plant it in pots. First put half a pot of soil in the pot, and then place the processed bulbs on top. Be careful not to put them too deep into the soil, just cover the root plate completely. After planting, place it in a semi-shaded place, water it frequently and keep it moist. It will bloom in about two months.
