What soil is best for growing cyclamen?

What soil is best for growing cyclamen?

1. Specific requirements

(1) The first point is looseness. Most plants have this requirement. Only when the flower soil is loose can it be beneficial for the plants to breathe. On the contrary, soil caking is most unfavorable to plant growth.

(2) The second requirement is good drainage. This is because, although this plant likes moisture, it is also afraid of waterlogging. If there is too much water accumulation, it is likely to corrode the roots. If the drainage is good, even if too much water is poured at one time, it can be drained out in time.

(3) The third is breathability, which is the same as looseness and is also conducive to breathing.

(4) There is also the nutritional value it contains. This plant requires a lot of nutrients from growth to flowering, and generally speaking we need to fertilize it regularly. If the soil you choose contains more nutrients, you can apply less fertilizer.

(5) The last one is about pH. A slightly acidic soil is best for this plant. However, it should not be too sour.

2. Prepare the soil

(1) You can mix leaf mold and garden soil. After mixing in a two to one ratio, add some superphosphate. In this way, the nutrient soil is prepared.

(2) Peat and perlite can also be used. Mix them evenly in a ratio of two to one. Then, prepare the river mud, break it up and dry it, and then mix it in.

3. Notes

Because it has a relatively large demand for nutrients, you can mix a little base fertilizer into the soil.
