How to grow Clivia to make it bloom

How to grow Clivia to make it bloom

1. Appropriate amount of light

If you want the Clivia to bloom, you must give it an appropriate amount of light. It can only carry out photosynthesis when there is sufficient light. Certain shading measures should be taken in summer to avoid burning the leaves of the plants; sufficient light must be ensured in winter.

2. Suitable temperature

Clivia likes a warm growing environment. If the temperature is too low, it will be difficult for it to bloom. The temperature is generally lower in winter, so it needs to be placed in a warm place indoors for maintenance. It is best to give it an environment of 15-25℃, and the temperature should not be lower than 10℃.

3. Scientific fertilization

In order to make the Clivia bloom, it should be given sufficient nutrients. During its growth period, apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers once every 10 days. Be careful not to apply too much nitrogen fertilizer, as it will affect normal flowering. Too much nitrogen fertilizer will make the plant's leaves greener, but it will not bloom.

4. Reasonable watering

Proper watering on a regular basis will also make the Clivia bloom. The watering frequency does not need to be too frequent, 1-2 times a week is enough. Watering should follow the principle of watering when the soil is dry and watering when the soil is wet. Wait until the soil in the pot is 2-3cm dry before watering. In addition, be sure to water thoroughly when watering.
