When to sow ryegrass

When to sow ryegrass

1. When to sow

As long as the temperature is suitable, it can be carried out in all four seasons of the year, but the yield is not guaranteed. It is best to choose spring and autumn when the climate is mild and suitable, which is conducive to growth. The best time for spring sowing is mid-to-late March, and for autumn sowing, it should be from early August to the end of November. In autumn, it can be sown earlier. Generally, the earlier the sowing time, the higher the yield will be. If it is late, the yield cannot be guaranteed.

2. Sowing Method

1. Choose suitable loam, loosen the soil to maintain fertility, remove weeds, and apply base fertilizer in advance, which will help maintain sufficient fertility to ensure growth.

2. After screening out the seeds, place them in the sun to dry for an hour, and then soak them in warm water for about 12 hours. This can increase the chance of germination.

3. Sow the processed seeds evenly in the loam and cover them with a thin layer of soil. It does not need to be too thick, otherwise it will affect the growth of seedlings.

4. It grows very fast and can usually be harvested for the first time 40-50 days after sowing. After that, it can be harvested every 20-30 days depending on its growth.
