How to grow cymbidium in spring

How to grow cymbidium in spring

1. Water supply

In spring, the humidity of the growing environment should be kept above 80% because the amount of watering will need to be increased. The standard for watering it is to water the soil until it is completely moist but there is no water accumulation. Generally, watering is required every day.

2. Amount of Fertilizer

In March, it needs to be given an application of organic decomposed fertilizer. It should be noted that because the fertilizer concentration is relatively high and the fertilizer effect is also relatively large, it needs to be diluted before it can be used on the plants. Starting from April, you need to spray it with Lanjunwang once every ten days, because some varieties are not easy to bloom and need to use drugs to promote flowering.

3. Temperature

Cymbidium is not very frost-resistant. If the temperature is below 5 degrees, it will stop growing. There is more cold weather in spring, and if the plants are maintained in the open air, they will suffer frostbite. Therefore, it can only be maintained indoors, and when maintained indoors, the temperature needs to be controlled at around 18 degrees. If the room temperature is too high, you can open the windows to ventilate the heat in the room and lower the temperature, or you can spray it with water mist to help cool it down.

4. See the Sun

Light is an essential factor in the growth process of Cymbidium. Spring is its growing season, so the light intensity needs to be increased. If the indoor lighting is not enough, you can place it outdoors to receive light when the sun is good. The lighting time should not be less than five hours.
