How to save seeds of Danish wind chimes

How to save seeds of Danish wind chimes

1. Choose the variety

When keeping seeds for Danish wind chimes, you should choose healthy and strong plants, and the more abundant the flowering, the better. Such seeds are easier to grow, have a certain degree of disease resistance, and do not require artificial flowering promotion to bloom well. Do not choose plants that are prone to disease or insects. Not only are they difficult to care for, they can also easily affect other flowers.

2. Artificial pollination

Since the stamens of Danish bluebells mature first and the stigma appears after the pollen is released, they cannot self-pollinate. If artificial pollination is required, you can cover the flowers with a bag during the bud stage and remove it after the pollen is released. After the flowers bloom, pollen is spread on the stigma.

3. Seed Collection and Storage

Danish campanula will produce capsules after flowering, and the fruits contain seeds. However, the seeds are very small, so you must be extra careful when collecting them. After the seeds are taken out, they should be dried and stored. When the right time comes, they can be sown and new plants will grow.

4. Sowing

Sowing is usually carried out in spring. If the temperature is low, sowing can be done in a greenhouse so that the flowering period can be avoided during the hot summer months. Choose loose and fertile soil and sow the seeds on the soil surface without covering them with soil. Use a watering can to spray water to keep it moist and wait for it to germinate.
