How to grow lantern flower

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: Because it likes warmth, the normal maintenance temperature can be kept between 15 and 25 degrees. In summer, it is very afraid of high temperatures. Therefore, when the temperature is above 30 degrees, it is best to use spray cooling and other methods to adjust it. You also need to keep warm in winter, try not to let the temperature drop below 10 degrees, and the lowest temperature should not drop below 5 degrees.

2. Light: Lantern flower likes light. If it is in a very dark place, it will not only grow too tall, but its subsequent flowering will also be greatly affected. However, too much light is not good. When encountering direct sunlight in summer, be sure to shade it or move it directly to a cool place, because too strong light will cause its leaves to shrink.

3. Watering: Lantern flower likes water and needs to be kept moist during the growth period. But it can't be too wet, as this will cause its roots to rot and its leaves to fall off easily.

4. Fertilization: During its maintenance, fertilizers need to be applied regularly. Generally speaking, it is once a week to ten days. In addition, organic fertilizer before planting is also important. No fertilizer is needed in winter.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: Because the lantern flower basically has no seeds, the main method used is cuttings. It is more suitable to do this in January, February or October. Select suitable branches and cut them into small sections of five to eight centimeters long for cuttings. The temperature after cuttings should be between fifteen and twenty degrees. It will take about twenty days for the seeds to take root.

2. Pruning: Pruning is also important in its maintenance. In order to make it bloom more, you can prune it slightly before flowering. After flowering, the main repair is its flowers. When you encounter some dry leaves, don't let them remain on the branches.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Diseases: Root rot is a relatively common disease, which is usually caused by excessive watering and requires water control and the use of pesticides. There is also "powdery mildew", which will show symptoms on leaves, buds and flowers, and can be prevented and treated with mancozeb.

2. Pests: There are "whiteflies", "aphids", "red spiders", etc. You can wipe them off with a wet cloth or spray them with pesticides.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is non-toxic and can be cultivated with confidence.

2. Can it be grown at home?: Its flower shape is quite peculiar, making it suitable as a potted plant for viewing at home.
