How to grow cashews

How to grow cashews

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: As can be seen from its origin, the latitude of its distribution is relatively low, so the temperature requirement is also relatively high. Generally speaking, it is distributed in places with an annual average temperature of 24 to 28 degrees, and the monthly average temperature is generally between 23 and 29 degrees. It is not resistant to low temperatures, so special care is required.

2. Light: Cashew is also a kind of light-loving plant. Generally speaking, the annual sunshine duration should be between 1,500 and 2,000 hours. Adequate sunlight can promote fruit yield and make the cashews taste better.

3. Watering: Cashews require a lot of water during the growth period. In general, annual precipitation ranges from 1,000 to 1,600 mm. In addition, it is also afraid of waterlogging, so the more watering is not necessarily better.

4. Fertilization: Some fertilizer can be used appropriately during the growth period, especially when it is about to bear fruit. However, in comparison, the original nutrients in the soil are more important, and a certain amount of base fertilizer can be mixed in.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: There are many methods for cashew reproduction, including sexual reproduction, such as sowing. Before sowing, it is best to soak the seeds in indolebutyric acid for about 24 hours, which can effectively increase the germination rate. The next step is to choose a suitable location. Factors to consider generally include aeration and nutrients.

2. Pruning: Proper pruning is of great significance. It can effectively adjust the structure of the crown, improve ventilation, increase the fruit set rate, and thus increase yield. Pruning can be done in batches and multiple times, but the degree of pruning should not be too heavy at one time.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Diseases: There are many types. For example, too much water will cause "root rot", which requires medication and water control. There may also be "blight" and other diseases, and it is necessary to adjust the surrounding environment while using medication.

2. Pests: There are more than 40 known specific pests that harm various parts of the body. For example, for "coffee wrinkled-breasted longhorn beetle" and "tea blind bug", different pesticides can be sprayed according to different types.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: The cashew plant is non-toxic and the fruit is edible.

2. Can it be raised at home? Generally not, because it is mainly a cash crop.
