Rubber Tree Pruning

Rubber Tree Pruning

1. Pruning method

1. Pinching: This pruning method should be performed when it grows to 30-50cm, that is, the top buds and branches should be cut off. This is done to help the growth of side branches and also to control the height they grow.

2. Remove buds: When the buds grow out, they need to be pruned off so that the nutrients can be concentrated on the main branches.

3. Heavy pruning: It is usually carried out in winter and involves a greater degree of pruning. When pruning, dense branches should be cut out and yellow leaves should also be pruned off. If you are pruning weak branches, you should be gentler, but if you are pruning strong branches, you can prune them a little more severely.

2. Pay attention to pruning

When pruning, the cut should be as smooth as possible, and it is best to handle it after pruning. Some juice will flow out from the cut, so try to apply some wood ash to avoid infection. If a lot of fluid flows out, infection is very likely to occur.
