How to plant morning glory and the price of morning glory seeds

How to plant morning glory and the price of morning glory seeds

1. Planting method

1. Sowing time: Morning glory is an annual herb and sowing is generally carried out in spring. If you are in the south where the seasons are warm, you can sow seeds at any time. If you want it to bloom early in the north, you can only sow seeds and grow seedlings in a greenhouse.

2. Soaking seeds to accelerate germination: Morning glory seeds have a relatively hard shell. If you want to increase its germination rate, you need to cut it or soak it in water for 24 hours. After soaking the seeds, you can put them in an environment of 20-25℃ to germinate, and then sow them after they sprout.

3. How to sow: Although morning glory seeds are large, the germination rate is not high. Generally, spot sowing is adopted, and 3-5 seeds should be sown each time to ensure that it can germinate. If it is a potted plant, you can sow it in a flowerpot with a diameter of between 7-8 cm, one seed at a time. After sowing, a layer of fine soil needs to be covered, generally not more than 2 cm, but not too thin, otherwise it will emerge from the soil with a cap.

4. Subsequent maintenance: After sowing the morning glory seeds, you need to water them appropriately to keep the soil in the pot moist but not too wet. During its seedling stage, it is important to avoid light, especially strong light. It can be placed in a bright place to receive scattered light. In addition, the temperature must be controlled, which is more conducive to the growth and development of seedlings.

2. Price

Morning glory is relatively cheap, usually you can buy one for 0.1-0.2 cents. After all, it is very common and an annual herb, so it is impossible to grow it for too long. If you buy seeds, they are usually sold by the kilogram, and each kilogram costs 20 yuan.
