When does Clivia bloom?

When does Clivia bloom?

1. Flowering time

Its growth cycle is particularly long, so most of them need four or five years to bloom, which means that it will bloom when it grows twenty to twenty-five leaves. If we cultivate it well, it can bloom every two or three years, and the time can be shortened to less than two years. Of course, the plant basically only blooms once a year, and if it is well cared for, it may bloom one or two more times. For some people, it may take six or seven years for the plant to bloom, or it may only bloom once and never again.

Its flowering period is from February to April. There are ways to extend the flowering period. The best ways are to lower the temperature, ventilate it, and reduce the light.

2. Pay attention to the flowering period

1. Apply bone meal or some bean cake water before it blooms. This can make the color of the flowers brighter, the flowers larger, and the leaves thicker. Otherwise, it will be difficult for the flowers to bloom. At the same time, the amount of nitrogen fertilizer needs to be controlled, and fertilizers such as potassium and phosphorus also need to be applied, otherwise it will affect flowering.

2. Under strong light conditions, its flowering period will be very short, but the color of the flower will be brighter. Conversely, under weak light conditions, the flowering period will be longer, but the color will be a bit ugly. Whether it is long-term strong light or long-term weak light, it will cause its nutrients to accumulate, thus affecting its flowering.

3. Temperature also has a great impact on it. If the temperature is too high, the root hairs will exist for a shorter time and the absorption capacity will be weakened. Therefore, the temperature should be controlled between fifteen and twenty during the flowering period. In this way, the root hairs will exist longer, the absorption of water and fertilizer will be much better, and the flowers will grow particularly well.

4. Water it more often when it is blooming, because it has a higher demand for water at this time. The humidity should be above 60, but not too high, exceeding 80.

5. It is also necessary to prevent the arrow from being trapped. It is best to compact the soil tightly, keep the temperature above 20, and do not let the soil become hardened. The light should also be stronger in winter.
