How to take care of newly bought lilac

How to take care of newly bought lilac

1. How to deal with newly bought cloves

When you just buy the lilac, you need to first cut off the rotten roots and dead branches and leaves, then sterilize all the cut ends with a solution of carbendazim, and finally place it in a warm and well-ventilated place to dry, then choose suitable potting soil and plant it in the pot.

2. How to grow the newly bought lilac

1. Temperature: It is suitable for growing in a warm environment. When you first buy it, you need to provide it with an environment of about 22℃ for its growth. It is not cold-resistant or heat-resistant. After it resumes normal growth, its growth temperature also needs to be controlled. During high temperatures in summer, appropriate shade and watering are needed to cool it down. During low temperatures in winter, insulation measures must be taken in advance.

2. Soil: After you buy it, you need to choose a suitable potting soil for it. It is best to use a deeper ceramic pot for maintenance, and the soil should be loose and breathable sandy soil.

3. Watering: After you buy it, it has not started to grow normally, so you cannot water it too frequently. It is best to water it appropriately and keep the soil slightly moist. Wait until it resumes normal growth and then water it normally.

4. Light: It is a light-loving plant, but it should not be exposed to the sun for a long time. Therefore, when you first buy it, you need to place it in a place with scattered light for maintenance. After it gradually adapts to the new environment and resumes normal growth, you can give it sufficient light. But in summer, in order to avoid burns to the flowers and leaves, appropriate shading is needed.

5. Fertilization: It does not like fertilizer very much, but fertilization is essential during the maintenance process. When you first buy it, it has not yet adapted to the new environment, so you need to stop fertilizing it. After it resumes normal growth, you can apply mature compost once a year or before winter every other year. It should be noted that nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied after flowering to facilitate better flowering next year.
