How to grow nasturtium until it overflows the pot

How to grow nasturtium until it overflows the pot

1. Suitable soil

To grow nasturtium, you need to provide suitable soil. You can choose leaf mold, garden soil, sandy soil, and compost and mix them in a ratio of 4:4:1:1. The soil prepared in this way is relatively loose and breathable, and has sufficient nutrients, which can provide a good foundation for nasturtium to bloom.

2. Plenty of Sunlight

Nasturtium prefers an environment with plenty of sunlight and cannot grow in places without sunlight, so it must be placed in a place with good light, especially in winter to ensure full light. The light in summer is too strong, so proper shade is needed to avoid direct exposure to strong light.

3. Maintain temperature

For nasturtium, it prefers warmth, and the most suitable temperature for growth is around 18-24 degrees Celsius. To promote growth and achieve blooming, the temperature should be kept within a suitable range as much as possible. In winter, you should keep warm and keep the temperature above 10 degrees Celsius.

4. Reasonable watering

Nasturtium likes moisture, but is afraid of waterlogged environment, so you should pay attention to proper watering during the growing period. In spring and autumn, you can water it every two or three days, and in summer, you should water it every day. In dry periods, you should spray water on the leaves regularly to maintain good humidity.

5. Ensure nutrients

Apply sufficient base fertilizer before potting, and apply fertilizer once a month during the growth period. You can choose decomposed organic fertilizer.
