The propagation method of Cotinus coggygria

The propagation method of Cotinus coggygria

1. Cutting method

1. Time selection:

For this method, it is best to choose the early summer.

2. Material selection:

It is best to choose healthy branches without diseases and insect pests as materials, which can increase the success rate. Also, pay attention to the length of the flower branches. They don't need to be too long, ten to fifteen centimeters will be enough.

3. Specific steps:

Carefully cut off the branches we selected and wait for a moment. Once the incision has dried and no longer oozes fluid, it can be inserted into the matrix. Then, we need to control the temperature between 22 and 25 degrees Celsius and maintain sufficient humidity. In this way, after waiting for about half a month to twenty days, the cuttings will be able to grow roots. When the new roots grow to five or six centimeters, they can be transplanted into pots.

2. Seeding method

1. Time selection:

For this method of propagation, we have to sow the seeds immediately after collecting them. Otherwise, its seeds will lose the ability to germinate, which is needless to say very detrimental to the survival rate.

2. Matrix selection:

This is also a step that has a great impact on the success rate. We need to choose softer flower soil with relatively more nutrients as the substrate.

3. Specific methods:

Spread the seeds as evenly as possible on the sand bed, ensure that it is sufficiently moist, and control the temperature between 25 and 30 degrees. After about a month, you can observe the seeds germinating. When the seedlings grow to about ten centimeters, they can be transplanted.

3. Notes

After transplanting, move it as little as possible to give it stable growing conditions.
