Cultivation methods and precautions of Roselle

Soil selection

They are relatively drought-tolerant. After all, they were originally plants that grew in the tropics, so they can still tolerate drought. But well-drained soil is definitely better. The most suitable pH should be slightly lower, so that even newly reclaimed land can have a good harvest.

Sowing and seedling raising

There are two ways to sow this plant, one is to plant it directly, and the other is to choose to sow it in a seedbed. When sowing directly, be sure to add fertilizer such as chicken manure before. If you choose to sow in a seedbed, you should also choose a location with better soil, such as a vegetable garden. When the seedlings grow to about 15cm, you can choose the appropriate time to transplant them.

Intertillage and seedling transplanting

This plant only needs to be weeded two or three times during its growth period. When the seedlings grow to more than 10 cm for the first time, the overly dense seedlings can be moved to a sparse position. This can not only thin out the seedlings well, but also make rational use of the land. The second time can be done when the seedlings are 30 to 40 centimeters tall, and the third time can be done when flower buds appear. At this time, you must pay attention to weeding.

Pest and disease control

The most common insect that appears on this plant is the small bridge-building insect, but there are also more common aphids, etc. They must be discovered early and then sprayed with reagents.

The main diseases of this plant are common wilt and root rot. You must pay attention to the weather at ordinary times. If it rains for a long time, you must pay attention to drainage. When it is too dry, you must replenish water in time. Of course, if conditions permit, you can directly choose disease-resistant varieties, which will reduce the probability of disease occurrence.

Okay, now you know how to grow this flower, right? If you think it’s good, please share it with others in time.
