Why are the leaves of lucky bamboo turning yellow?

Why are the leaves of lucky bamboo turning yellow?

1. Normal metabolism

If it has just been brought back not long ago and no roots have grown yet, this is normal. Because it cannot absorb nutrients from it, it will naturally turn into yellow leaves. There is no need to worry about this situation. Just cut off the yellow leaves, then cut the bottom diagonally and add nutrient solution to promote rooting.

2. Close to heating equipment

In winter, because the climate is very cold, it needs to be moved indoors for maintenance. If it is too close to heating equipment, the branches and leaves will be burned yellow. It is best to keep it away from these electrical appliances and place it in a place with better sunlight.

3. The water has not been changed for a long time

This applies to hydroponics. If the water is not changed for a long time, the water will become turbid. The roots may rot if they are soaked for a long time, and yellow leaves will naturally appear. During daily maintenance, be sure to change the water regularly, especially in summer when the high temperature can easily breed bacteria.

4. Improper lighting

It needs suitable temperature to grow. If there is no light for a long time, the chlorophyll will not be able to function normally and yellow leaves will appear. If exposed to direct sunlight, the leaves will be burned, split in the middle and turn yellow. Just place it under scattered light on a daily basis, and supplement with full light in winter.
