Methods and technologies of silver carp breeding

Silver carp , also known as silver carp, water carp, jumping silver carp, and silver carp, belongs to the Cypriniformes, Cyprinidae, and is one of the famous four major carps. Silver carp is a large freshwater fish that is artificially raised. It grows fast, has few diseases, and has a high yield. It is often raised together with grass carp and carp. Below, I will introduce the methods and techniques of silver carp farming. Let’s take a look.

1. Selection of broodstock

The broodstock should be selected from natural stock and should be healthy with well-developed gonads. The individual weight of silver carp is over 6 kg, bighead carp is over 10 kg, black carp is over 15 kg, and grass carp is over 8 kg. The annual renewal rate of broodstock should be around 10%.

2. Clean the fish pond

The broodstock pond should be easy to irrigate and drain. The bottom of the silver carp and bighead carp pond should have 20 cm deep silt, while the bottom of the black carp and grass carp pond should contain little or no silt. The area is 1-5 mu, the water depth is about 1.5 meters, and the pond should be cleaned before stocking.

3. Free-range breeding

The male-female ratio of silver carp, bighead carp, black carp and grass carp broodstock is generally 1:1-1.5. At the same time, 8-10 mandarin carp and about 150 bighead carp are released per acre to control the breeding of wild fish and large zooplankton.

4. Feeding and management

Before stocking, 500-700 kg of decomposed organic fertilizer should be added per mu of silver carp and bighead carp broodstock pond to cultivate plankton, and appropriate fertilization should be applied later. In addition, soybean cake slurry should be fed in sunny and warm weather to promote gonad development.

5. Daily management

Patrol the pond once every morning to observe the water color and fish movements, regularly remove weeds along the pond and rotten debris in the water, clean the feeding table and disinfect the table and food. To protect pond hygiene. Pulling the net for inspection is not only beneficial for fertilizing the water, but also convenient for checking the growth and fish diseases of the fish, so as to reasonably determine the amount of feed and the methods of fish disease prevention and control, and do a good job in preventing escape, theft, fish diseases and pests.

6. Wintering in the pond

In late autumn and early winter, the water temperature drops below 10 degrees and the fish no longer eat. At this time, the fish must be caught and concentrated in deeper fish ponds to overwinter. It is recommended to stop feeding one week before merging the ponds, and choose a clear day to pull the nets out of the ponds. When merging the ponds, you must be careful and meticulous in pulling the nets and operating to avoid injuring the fish and causing saprolegniasis during the winter. The water depth of the storage pond should be more than 2 meters, facing the sun and sheltered from the wind, with less sludge. After the ponds are merged, hypoxia should be prevented when they freeze.

The above are the methods and techniques for breeding silver carp. Silver carp is one of the main freshwater farmed fish in my country. Its meat is tender and nutritious. It is one of the excellent fish species that is more suitable for breeding.
