Common diseases of nasturtium: mosaic disease

Symptoms: The infected leaves show yellow-green and dark green mosaic symptoms, the leaves become smaller, and the whole plant looks a little shriveled.

Pathogen: The pathogen of mosaic disease may be a cucumber mosaic virus.

Prevention and control methods: Remove diseased leaves manually and burn them in time to prevent reinfection by bacteria.

Common diseases of nasturtium: ring spot

Symptoms: Ring-shaped mosaic or necrotic spots form on the diseased leaves.

Pathogen: Bean wilt virus, belongs to the genus Bean wilt virus, also known as nasturtium ringspot virus. RNA virus, virion is spherical, with a diameter of 26nm.

There is a type of aphid that is a vector of ring spot disease, such as peach aphid and bean aphid. However, the aphid vector nature is not persistent.

Prevention and control methods: prevent aphids in time. Commonly used insecticides include 1000 times diluted 50% malathion emulsifiable concentrate, 1000-1500 times diluted 40% malathion emulsifiable concentrate, 2000-3000 times diluted complex emulsifiable concentrate (40% DDT, 10% oxydemeton-methyl), or 3000 times diluted 20% methoate emulsifiable concentrate.
