Major diseases of Staghorn fern

Leaf blight and its control

Leaf blight is also called leaf spot disease or leaf spot disease. In the early stage of the disease, small brown spots appear on the leaves of plants. In the middle stage, the brown spots gradually turn into large patches, and the color deepens step by step. In the late stage, the large patches connect into one, causing the entire leaf to wither or even necrotize. The prevention and control method is very simple, just spray the mancozeb wettable powder appropriately.

Scale insect pests and their control methods

Scale insects are a type of pest with strong reproductive ability. The pests are concentrated on the leaves and branches and suck the nutrients of the Staghorn Fern. Too many pests will cause the entire Staghorn Fern to wither or even die. The prevention and control methods are divided into two categories: manual control and drug control. Manual control is suitable for the initial stage, when there are only one or two branches with pests, just use a soft brush to brush them off; drug control can be used in the later stage, when there are more pests, spray malathion or dichlorvos once every week, and two to three times can eliminate the pests.

Aphid pests and control

Aphids mainly appear in the young growth period of Staghorn Fern, distributed on the young branches and leaves of Staghorn Fern, and absorb its nutrients, preventing it from growing normally. In the initial stage of prevention and control, you can spray soapy water, and in the later stage, you can directly spray the medicine.
