Primrose pest control

Primrose pest control

Diseases

This plant is prone to "brown spot disease". This is a disease caused by a fungus. If infected with this disease, primroses will show signs of disease from bottom to top, and the disease will spread quickly. In the early stage of the disease, some small round spots will appear on the leaves, which are brown in color and gradually turn black as the disease worsens. If the condition gets worse, the spots may merge into one, and the leaves will slowly turn yellow and fall off, which will also affect flowering.

To prevent and control this disease, we first need to cut off the infected leaves or branches and treat them in a centralized manner to avoid infecting other parts. The next step is to spray some pesticides for prevention and control, such as thiophanate-methyl solution. Another thing to note is that before the arrival of high temperature or high humidity weather, we should reduce the application of fertilizers containing N elements and maintain a certain amount of fertilizers containing P and K elements; we should also avoid too much water, especially not watering in the evening.

Pests

The first is aphids, a very common pest that often gathers on the leaves and flower buds of the plant. To deal with them, we usually choose to spray some liquid medicine, such as imidacloprid series of liquid medicine, which will be more effective.

Then there is the red spider, which is a pest we are very familiar with. It also mainly gathers on the leaves. To deal with this kind of insect, we can take advantage of their preference for dryness and spray some water on the leaves. This can not only wash away the adult insects and eggs, but also make the environment unsuitable for their survival. Secondly, spraying some medicine is also possible.
