What to do if there are white spots on the leaves of rubber trees

What to do if there are white spots on the leaves of rubber trees

1. Watering

It is drought-resistant but not water-resistant, and is very afraid of waterlogging. Once it is watered too much and water accumulates, it will corrode its roots and make it unable to absorb nutrients from the soil normally. In addition, if the water temperature is too low, its roots may be easily frozen, causing it to be unable to absorb nutrients. The above conditions will cause white spots to appear on its leaves.

Solution: Control the amount of watering reasonably, not too much. In addition, when watering, you also need to pay attention to the water temperature not being too low to avoid freezing its roots.

2. Ventilation

This is also an important factor. If it is insufficient, it may prevent it from carrying out normal physiological responses, causing it to be unable to grow normally and white spots to appear on the leaves.

Solution: Pay attention to ventilation at ordinary times, but be careful not to put it in an air-conditioned room in winter.

3. Diseases and pests

This is the most likely reason. If it gets some diseases, such as anthrax, white spots may appear on its leaves. Generally, it occurs at the tip or edge of the leaf. If it is serious, it may affect the entire leaf surface.

Solution: Once it is confirmed that it is diseased, we need to pick off those with white spots, and then spray it with commonly used drugs such as carbendazim. If it is a scale insect, there is no need to make such a big fuss. Generally, it will appear on the branches. If we press it with our fingers, liquid will be produced. At this time, we can directly scrape it off, because this kind of pest will die if it leaves the plant, so we just need to clean it up. In addition, we can also directly purchase some insecticides, which are generally available on the market. If there are white marks on the leaves after spraying the medicine, don't rush to wipe them off, because these are residual medicine. The efficacy will be better if you leave them for a while.
