When to plant hyacinths

1. Planting time

The flowering period of hyacinth is generally in early spring from March to April, so the planting time is around October in autumn. Before sowing, the bulbs can be stored in a low temperature environment for 1-2 months in summer. Hyacinthus is generally planted by dividing bulbs, because seed propagation is not well developed in China, and generally relies on imported bulbs.

2. Planting Method

1. Soil culture method: around October, apply base fertilizer at the bottom of the soil, and the spacing between various bulbs is about 10m. After planting, cover with a thin layer of soil, about 12-15cm thick. Apply fertilizer once before and after germination and flowering. After flowering, cut off the leaves and flowers, dig out the flower balls, and store them in a dry place in the shade.

2. Hydroponic method: Choose a glass bottle with a funnel-shaped mouth and place the ball heel on it. Fill the bottle with water in October and November every year, and place the bulb that fits the size of the bottle mouth on it, taking care not to let the lower part of the bulb touch the water surface. In the early stage of planting, place it in a cool place. After one month, the bulb will take root. At this time, you can place the whole plant in a sunny place and remember to change the water every 3-4 days.
