What to do if the leaves of dianthus are drooping

What to do if the leaves of dianthus are drooping

1. Causes of sagging

Generally, there may be many reasons for its leaves to droop, such as inappropriate temperature and humidity, inadequate light, inappropriate soil pH, or too frequent watering, the soil in the pot is always wet and not dry, the living environment is too dark, the ventilation is not very good, or the fertilizer in the pot is too concentrated. If it is a newly purchased plant, it may be that there is something wrong with it.

2. Solutions

1. If it is because of the wrong temperature, you need to adjust it to above 15 degrees, because the suitable temperature is between fifteen and twenty-five degrees Celsius.

2. If too much water is given, the roots will not be able to breathe, and the drainage measures are not good enough, the cells in the leaves will easily die. The leaves will wilt and you can change the soil and pot.

3. If it is exposed to the sun for a long time, the leaves will droop. Place it in a semi-shaded area and illuminate it with diffuse light instead of strong light.

4. If none of the above is the case, you need to wait until the soil in the pot is almost dry, then replace it with a new pot, change the soil, and check whether the roots are injured or whether there are insect pests in the soil.

3. Maintenance Tips

1. Picking buds

Its perennial properties are not very good, and it is perennial, but generally only grown for one or two years. If it is a potted plant, you need to prepare enough base fertilizer for it. It is enough to plant two or three plants in each pot. When the seedlings grow to 15 cm, you need to remove the buds on the top to help the growth of branches. Later, you need to remove the axillary buds appropriately. Otherwise, if there are too many branches, the nutrients will be dispersed and the flowers will grow smaller. Removing the axillary buds can concentrate the nutrients so that the flowers can grow larger and more colorful.

2. Water and fertilizer

During the growing period, it should be placed in a bright and windy area for maintenance. The soil in the pot should be moist enough, and fermented liquid fertilizer should be added once every ten days or so, but not too concentrated. During the rainy season in summer, pay attention to drainage and loosen the soil. It is easy to hybridize, so it is necessary to save seeds and isolate each pot of flowers. Water less in winter. If the temperature remains between five and eight degrees, it will continue to bloom throughout winter and spring.
