Hydroponics MethodTreating plantsFirst, take the ivy out of the pot, put the soil lump into water as you would wash the roots, and carefully remove the soil from the roots. Be careful not to break the roots, as damaging the roots will be detrimental to subsequent hydroponics. (If you don’t have soil-grown plants at home, you can pick branches directly from outside, grow them in water, and then slowly grow them into plants after they take root. Such plants will avoid damaging the root system when washing the roots.) HydroponicsAfter the plants are prepared, place them in the hydroponic container and position them correctly. The water should cover 2/3 of the roots. Maintenance pointsChange water frequentlyIn the early stage of hydroponics, you should pay attention to changing the water frequently. It is best to change the water every 1 or 2 days to ensure the water is clean and prevent the lower end of the branches from rotting. In about 10 days, the ivy will grow tender white aerial roots. After new roots grow, the water should also be changed frequently. After about another 2 to 3 weeks, the hydroponic ivy will show lush growth. After the ivy grows normally, add a few drops of nutrient solution to the water every time you change the water. ShadeBefore the hydroponic ivy takes root, do not expose it to light. It needs to be placed in scattered light or shade. The temperature should be appropriate, not too hot or too cold. After rooting, provide appropriate light supplementation, just diffuse light. Cleaning branches and leavesDon't think that hydroponic ivy only needs to be watered in time. You should spray the branches and leaves with clean water every once in a while to increase the air humidity and keep the leaves clean and green. In midsummer, try to use clean water for breeding. |
