How to hydroponically cultivate wedding spider plants

Container selection

As long as it can hold water, it can be used to grow wedding spider plants, but it is best to use a transparent container, so that you can enjoy the flowers and leaves, as well as the dazzling white roots in the water. The containers for hydroponic wedding spider plants can be simple or complex. They can be single-layered, and you can directly choose a five-hole glass bottle, or double-layered, with a plastic screen (planting basket) as the upper layer and a five-hole container as the lower layer.

Hydroponics steps

In fact, the editor wants to say that the method of hydroponic wedding spider plant is really simple. Even if there is no guide, you can succeed by figuring it out at home.

Step 1: Take the beautifully shaped potted wedding spider plant out of the pot and clean the soil around the roots. Try to wash the roots until they are white, so as to avoid the hydroponic water becoming turbid.

Step 2: After washing, cut off the old roots, cut off some of the old leaves, and leave the healthy leaves. (Pruning is very important. Don’t put all the good and bad plants into the water. It will not only affect the appearance, but the wedding spider plant will not grow well!)

Step 3: Place the wedding plant into the hydroponic container. If it comes with a planting basket, you can put a small amount of medical stone in the planting basket to fix the plant.

Water culture

1. Do not immerse all the roots in water. Keep 1/4 of the roots above the water surface to ensure there is enough oxygen for the roots to breathe freely.

2. It is best to use cold boiled water for hydroponic wedding spider plants. It is free of pests and diseases, and does not contain chlorine in tap water, which is more conducive to root growth. In particular, the roots will remain white and tender without turning green in this water environment, making them extremely ornamental. Under normal circumstances, it is sufficient to change the water every 3 to 4 days, and the water change time can be appropriately extended in winter.

3. Compared with plants grown in potted soil, hydroponic plants require less sunlight. As long as the maintenance location is bright, they can grow normally. Hydroponic wedding spider plants should be kept away from direct sunlight, but can be exposed to more sunlight in winter.
