Flower LanguageThe flower language of Mo Lan is very simple and can be explained in one sentence: quiet and youthful, symbolizing simplicity and elegance. Plant CultureMo Lan is also called the New Year's Lan or the New Year's Lan because it blooms during the Great Cold every year. The old year of the lunar calendar is about to end and the new year is about to begin. The festive Beginning of Spring and the Spring Festival are about to arrive. When the black orchid blooms, people praise its character, are inspired by it, and like its noble character of being detached from the world, lonely and fragrant, and maintaining its elegance. The Legend of MolanA long, long time ago, there was a beautiful young man and woman serving the Queen Mother in the Heavenly Palace. The man was called A Kun, and he wore a robe woven from nine pieces of jade; the woman was called Bi Mei, and she wore a gauze skirt inlaid with nine jade beads. Longing for earthly life, they boldly descended to the human world, disregarding the harsh heavenly rules, formed a happy couple, and settled down on the coast of the East China Sea. During the day, the hardworking and brave A Kun worked in the fields and fished, while the clever and skillful Bi Mei spun yarn and weaved cloth at home; at night, they snuggled happily under the old banyan tree by the sea, looking at the magnificent starry sky and the surging waves in the distance, and happily chanted beautiful and moving songs. Over time, they finally used their wisdom and hands to build a beautiful homeland and gave birth to the great Chinese nation. Later, they died one after another due to old age and illness. Their descendants followed their wills and buried A Kun on the majestic Kunlun Mountains and Bi Mei in the vast blue East China Sea. Thus, the silk shirt woven with nine pieces of jade that A Kun wore turned into the Yangtze River, the Yellow River and the Five Mountains on the land of China; the gauze skirt inlaid with nine jade beads that Bi Mei wore turned into the enchanting orchids on the island of Taiwan. |
