Cultivation method of potted osmanthus

Cultivation method of potted osmanthus

1. Flower soil

Potted Osmanthus fragrans requires flower soil with good drainage and more nutrients. Specifically, seven parts of fine sand, four parts of peat soil, two parts of cake fertilizer residue and one part of fine slag can be evenly mixed to use as its flower soil.

2. Lighting

As a light-loving flower, it needs sufficiently good lighting conditions to grow healthily. If the plant does not receive enough light, its branches will become very soft and easy to break, and the flowers will have a weaker scent. Therefore, you should place it on the windowsill and give it at least 5-6 hours of direct light every day.

3. Temperature

It prefers warmer growing conditions as this allows it to grow faster. Therefore, you should try to keep the temperature around it between 18-28℃, which is more conducive to its growth. In winter, keep the temperature above 5℃ to prevent it from frostbite.

4. Watering

It does not require much water and only needs to be watered once a month during the growing season. However, during the flowering period, it needs to be watered in small amounts and multiple times to ensure sufficient water, which can make its fragrance more fragrant and pleasant.

5. Fertilization

During the growing season, a thin layer of fertilizer can be applied every 10 days or so to provide nutrients. However, if it is a new plant that has just been potted, do not apply fertilizer yet to avoid affecting its root system.
