Caragana microphylla

Caragana microphylla is a common species of Caragana. It is a shrub of the Fabaceae family, 40-70 cm tall, and up to 2 meters high. It has grayish yellow or yellowish white bark and yellow flowers. It likes light, is tolerant to poor soil and has strong drought resistance. It grows mostly in well-ventilated sandy land, sand dunes and dry hillsides. It is a pioneer tree species in arid grasslands and desert steppes. Distributed in Mongolia, the former Soviet Union, Northeast China, North China, Shandong, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Ningxia and Gansu.

Caragana intermedia

Caragana intermedia is a plant of the leguminous family. This plant is distributed in the wild in the western part of Xilinguole League in Inner Mongolia, the northern part of Ulanqab League, Bayannur League, Alxa League, Ikh Ju League, Ningxia and the neighboring Loess Plateau. Commonly known as Caragana korshinskii, it is cold-resistant, extremely resistant to drought and wind, and has strong ability to retain water and consolidate soil. It is a pioneer plant for managing loess gullies and barren slopes in Gansu Province. It has many uses such as feed, fuel, fertilizer and textiles.

Caragana korshinskii

Caragana korshinskii is a shrub of the genus Caragana in the Fabaceae family. It is also called hairy caragana and white caragana. The plant height is 40-70 cm, and can reach up to about 2 meters. It is suitable for growing on sunny and semi-sunny slopes at an altitude of 900-1300 meters. It is drought-resistant, cold-resistant and high-temperature-resistant, and is a xerophytic shrub found in arid grasslands and desert steppes. At present, Caragana korshinskii is one of the important tree species for soil and water conservation and sand fixation afforestation in Northwest China, North China, and western Northeast China. It is an excellent plant for sand fixation and greening barren hills, and a good forage.

Caragana rubra

Caragana rubra is an upright shrub. The twigs are slender, angular, gray-brown, glabrous, and the corolla is yellow or light red. The flowering period is from April to May, and it mostly grows on hillsides, ditches, roadsides or in bushes.
