Can red spider lilies be used for gardening?

Red spider lily is a common ornamental plant in Southeast Asia. It is an excellent bulbous herbaceous flower that can be enjoyed for its leaves in winter and its flowers in autumn. It is often planted in shady places or under trees in gardens, and some are even planted among rocks.

Because red spider lily has no leaves when it blooms, it is better to plant it together with other green herbs.

Ornamental value

The flowering period of Red Spider Lily is in late summer and early autumn. The flower stem is 30-60 cm long. Usually 4-6 flowers are arranged in an umbrella shape and grow at the top of the flower stem.

The petals are oblanceolate, the perianth is red or white, curling backwards, with wavy edges, and the perianth tube is extremely short; the stamens and style are prominent, the flower shape is small, and the circumference is more than 6 cm.

There are only two colors of red spider lily, the colors are pure and very ornamental.
