How to grow Sonchus endive

How to grow Sonchus endive

1. Soil

Sonchus is suitable for growing in medium fertility, loose and well-drained soil. Do not crop continuously, otherwise it will lead to variety degeneration.

2. Lighting

The length of sunlight exposure should be ensured every day. Otherwise, it will easily lead to hard stems and leaves of the plant and poor quality of flowers. It is best to choose a well-ventilated location where it can see light all year round. It can be cultivated in a greenhouse or greenhouse.

3. Temperature

Its optimal growth temperature is 10-25℃. The seeds can only germinate when the temperature is above 12℃. During the summer, you should pay attention to avoiding the heat and avoid placing them in a high temperature and exposure environment for a long time.

4. Watering

It grows best in a relatively humid environment. The surrounding air should be kept moist, and water should be applied in time to ensure that the soil moisture is around 65%. However, watering should be moderate, and preparations should be made for drainage and waterlogging prevention to prevent root rot and death.

5. Fertilization

Thin fertilizers should be applied frequently during the growth period, and 500 times compound water-fertilizer and 500 times urea diluted solution can be applied at intervals during the growth period.

6. Notes

1. Attention should be paid to the prevention and control of diseases and pests. During the period of high insect pests in spring and autumn, you can irrigate the roots with 1000 times diluted 80% dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane every 5-7 days. Repeating 2-3 times can be effective in preventing and controlling pests. Attention should be paid to ventilation.

2. The weeds around it should be cleaned regularly. If not cleaned in time, it is easy to cause phenomena such as slow growth and yellowing of leaves.
