Can Forsythia be grown at home? Cultivation methods and precautions

Can Forsythia be grown at home? Cultivation methods and precautions

1. Can I keep it at home?

Forsythia can be safely grown at home. Because it is non-toxic and has high ornamental value. Usually flowers bloom before leaves appear. It will bloom in early spring. When the flowers bloom, the branches are full of golden yellow and the fragrance is overflowing. It is very suitable for potted plants to be maintained at home.

2. Breeding methods

1. Watering: It likes a slightly moist environment. Water it frequently during cultivation and do not let the soil be too dry. But be careful not to allow water to accumulate. Drain the water in time during the rainy season to prevent root rot.

2. Temperature: It has strong cold resistance, so you don’t have to worry about temperature issues when maintaining it. Even in the winter in the north, it can be placed outdoors for the winter. Just make sure to get more sunlight.

3. Light: It likes sunlight and can tolerate partial shade. However, during the growth period, it should be placed outdoors in a well-lit place. Sufficient light will make the overall growth more vigorous, which is beneficial to growth. Even in summer, there is no need to block out the sun.

4. Fertilization: It has a strong ability to tolerate barrenness, but if it is fertilized regularly during home breeding, it will grow better with sufficient nutrients. Apply compound fertilizer once every 20 days. Stop fertilizing in summer and winter.

3. Notes

In addition to the method, you should also pay attention to pruning when breeding. Forsythia has a strong germination ability and grows many branches every year. It should be pruned in time to promote better flowering and fruiting.
