Is Quisqualis poisonous?

There are many different opinions on the Internet. Some friends say that it is slightly toxic, while others say that it is non-toxic and can even be eaten raw. Other Quisqualis plants are not poisonous in themselves, but there are more precautions when eating them, such as usage and dosage.

The plant itself is not poisonous, and the fragrance of its flowers is not poisonous either.

Poisonous side effects

It is not advisable to consume it when drinking tea, especially hot tea, whether it is eaten raw or boiled. Both can cause diarrhea, and the diarrhea will occur very quickly. In addition to not being able to drink hot tea, other hot foods are not recommended to be consumed with it.

People with poor spleen and stomach should not eat it, otherwise it will cause more stomach distress.

Is it edible?

Quisqualis chinensis is not a common plant, especially in the north, so friends may not know much about it. It has a very significant therapeutic effect on the treatment of parasitic roundworms in children. Even a moderate amount of it eaten raw can be comparable to western medicine. But this does not mean that you can eat it casually. If you have no disease, it is not recommended to eat it. But if you like it, you should eat it raw in moderation, otherwise it will cause physical discomfort.

Although Quisqualis chinensis is non-toxic, it cannot be consumed as a health supplement. Being non-toxic does not mean that it can be consumed at will. Friends who need it should still consult professionals.
